Why must I acknowledge each module?

Every module in the learning material requires you to acknowledge that you are aware of what is required of you to complete in order for you to complete the Financial Markets Education and what is required to be completed to show you having progress through all modules.

Acknowledging the module content is required in the calculation of your module progress.

Open the Student Acknowledgement activity in each module and tick the select box to acknowledge the module requirements and save your selection.

Where do I view my module progress?

You can view your progress of each module on the module page. Each module will show a progress bar indicating your progress of the required module activities

You can view the time you have taken on the module as well as the percentage of the required activities you have completed.

Why is my module progress not showing my correct progress?

Each module has a progress bar that measure your progress and is calculated based on the completion of specific activities which differ from module to module. Not all activities in a module count towards your progress bar.

The progress bar is found on the modules page under the module image in each of the module blocks

To view what activities are used in the specific modules calculation, open the module content page. You can view you progress at the bottom of the list of the activities.

The modules progress is calculated as the percentage of completed activities that are required to be completed. These activities will display a status in the status column on the right. Bear in mind the activity must be completed meaning that if it is a graded activity, you need to have achieved the pass grade. An assessment or assignment activity is not considered completed if you failed to reach the 85% pass mark.

The below status and tick colour explain the outcome of the activity:

  • Status Inprogress- this means the activity has not yet been completed. Your progress on this activity is 0%
  • Status Complete with a blue tick - this means you have completed an activity that does not require a grade, such as the learning activity which only requires you view it entirely. Your progress on this activity is 100%
  • Status Complete with a red tick - this means you have completed an activity that requires a grade but have failed (scored less than the required 85%). Your progress on this activity is 0%
  • Status Complete with a green tick - this means you have completed an activity that requires a grade and have passed (scored above the required 85%). Your progress on this activity is 100%
  • Status Blank with no tick - this means an activity has been edited by the lecturers and you are then required to redo the activity. Your progress on this activity is 0%

Should you wish to confirm your progress is showing correctly, simply add up the number of activities that require completion (have a status) and then take the number of activities you have completed (passed) and divide that number by the total number of required activities.

For example, in the image above, there are six activities that need to be completed of which one is in progress and one is failed. Therefore if you take the four completed activities and divide by six, you get the percentage of 66%
